The QuickGroups Collaboration Server provides an easy way for groups of people to share documents, send messages and participate in online discussion forums. Existing methods of online collaboration usually involve registering a domain, paying for a web hosting account and then installing and configuring the database and bulletin board options that can make a web site interactive. This requires a fair amount of technical know-how and can be too expensive (when you consider the additional charges for database services and file storage capabilities beyond 100 MB). The QuickGroups system provides a simple, cost effective alternative with: no requirement to register a domain name or web hosting account potentially unlimited shared file storage space simple administration with an easy to use web interface QuickGroups has the additional advantage of being a private collaboration site: the files and discussions posted to the system are not exposed to the general population of the Internet to be catalogued by web-crawlers and snooped through by anyone who happens to surf by.
